THANK YOU! We can’t even begin to describe how extremely grateful we are to all of those who’ve believed in our dream.  We signed the lease for our space and hit the ground running, long nights after work and weekends tearing down walls, speckling, building and prepping. It was scary, exciting, hard and scary, but we opened.

And it has been nothing shy of one amazing adventure, we have to stop sometimes and just pinch our selves that this is real.  And for that amazing feeling, the feeling that we are so, so lucky to be living our dream, in the city we love surrounded by the most wonderful people we have ever met! THANK YOU!  Thank you to those that ventured in to a new shop, to those that said they’d come back, those that said they’d tell their friends and a huge thank you to those that took the time to write or photograph our space.  It is because of you and this amazing neighborhood we continue to see new faces everyday!

This journey is just beginning and we are so excited for what is to come, but we can’t forget those that have been with us long before the doors opened.  We had a little dream – and our friends and family were nothing but supportive.  Thank you to those that came on our fist day (with little notice at all that we were opening), thank you to those that brought us snacks and meals during our build-out (and still do), thank you to those friends and family that understood when we could not travel to your birthday/wedding/get-together but most importantly thank you to those that continue to believe in us everyday!

Meet the Mast Brothers in this awesome documentary by The Scout.

“They began their voyage in their apartment, using a homemade machine to process cacao beans. Over time they cultivated their creation, sourcing beans from family farms in Madagascar, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, and Ecuador. Each bar is handmade with incredible reverence for the process and history of chocolate. They are bound in ornamental papers and golden foil like a collection of rare books. Each bar offers its own story of flavors, and no two are exactly alike.”

Lost Great Depression era photos by Dorothea Lange and Walker Evans were just posted online for viewing by The New York Public Library.   Check them out here.

Each one is made from a single continuous piece of latigo leather, which is durable, sturdy, and supple. They will soften over time and gain its own unique, rich patina.

And we love them.

Just stumbled across these lovely photos from ak photography and had to share.

First day of spring – road trips, camping and brews on the mind.  This video by Lifetime makes us want to pack it up and head out into the beauty that surrounds us.

In the video Lifetime and Salazar traveled over 3000 miles via van, boat, and foot. This is the first in a two part video made from their adventure. It looks amazing.

We wanted to choose a name that had meaning for us, and described our store.   Justin swam competitively for 17 years. His best race was the IM (the Individual Medley).   We used the inspiration from a competition swimming pool lane for the logo.  The “I” is the design you’ll find at the bottom of pools for each lane paired with the “M” for Medley and the crosses at the top and bottom are the crosses you tap underwater on the pool wall during a race.  Justin is pictured on the right.
